September 2023 Q&A

Thank you to everyone who sent in their questions on Instagram, Facebook, email and in-person — The influx of new followers has been great and I am happy to answer any questions.

I plan to keep this up each month in an attempt to be a better blogger! Make sure to follow my personal account on Instagram @yogitrainer and also my business account @subala843 If Facebook is more your scene, I’m at www.facebook.com/subala843 I’d say you could subscribe to my emails but we all know I don’t send very many of them.. You can ask questions on any of those social media platforms!

I'd also like to encourage you to check out my Pinterest Page for any inspiration you didn't know you needed

First 3 Questions

1. How do you ensure client safety during exercise sessions?

After a one on one call where I ask pertinent questions about mobility we schedule our first in person appointment and this is where I assess if their words and desires match what their abilities are. All of the movements I demonstrate and have the client duplicate them after me - not at the same time as me, so I can hand my hands free and a good stance to correct and fix alignment. Motions and movements are performed without resistance or weights for a few repetitions or until mastery is achieved and when the client is confident and competent, we can add weights or resistance.

2. What is your stance on sustainable and balanced nutrition?

I believe that sustainable means unchanged and from the ground as opposed to a laboratory. There are nutrients we are severely depleted from that specifically come from ground sources like minerals and vitamins. I believe that everything in moderation is what most people should eat and I am not a fan of ELIMINATION DIETS whatsoever, unless they are temporary to fix a microbiome issue. Too much of anything in the gut will offset the pH and bacteria homeostasis so I think a variety of healthy fruits and vegetables is the first step to balancing your diet.

3. How do you motivate and support clients in reaching their health and fitness goals?

My clients have my phone number. My real cell phone number! If there is a change in their schedule, a pain they are experiencing or just a little swift kick in the pants to get motivated again, they have my number and can reach out whenever they need to.

When a client finished a program whether it's a back to basics course where this focuses on post operative treatment or a meditation program, I always check in, via text or email to say hey, how's it going, what can I do for you and this is where I can provide more support, more direction or more understanding for the seasons of life

4. Do you provide guidance on injury prevention and recovery?

Absolutely! My degree enables me to perform physical therapy and injury prevention or recovery on clients who are post operative or post injury. When post operative physical therapy is ordered, sometimes there is a lack in mobility from physical therapy to playing volleyball on the beach, resuming tennis or gold lessons and other leisurely activities. I can provide the functional sport range of motion that can get you back to enjoying the beach and beach living!

Check back at the end of the month for more!
