Make sure to follow my personal account on Instagram @yogitrainer and also my business account @subala843 If Facebook is more your scene, I’m at www.facebook.com/subala843 I’d say you could subscribe to my emails but we all know I don’t send very many of them.. You can ask questions on any of those social media platforms!

I'd also like to encourage you to check out my Pinterest Page for any inspiration you didn't know you needed

First 3 Questions

  • Do you use any specific meditation aids or tools?

This is a whole vibe - my yoga mat is a crisp White custom mat from Liforme - you can get one here #affiliate

Then, I love my meditation seat/cushion/pouf from Mala Collective. It's large base helps with comfort from your crossed legs/ankles. Mala Collective meditation cushions are hand-made in India, they’re the perfect height to support your hips & knees, plus they’re all made of recycled cotton which means each piece looks a little different. Anyone who comes over & sees my meditation space just HAS to know where I got them. It looks like they have discontinued the set up I use but this one is similar (not affiliated) https://www.yogamatters.com/collections/meditation-cushions/products/new-kit-yogamatters-luxury-home-meditation-kit

If I know I have been a little chaotic or energetic - I spray the room or my face with the Aura Clearing Mist from #TheGoldenSecrets and you can get some here by using the code Chrissie 10 https://www.thegoldensecrets.com/collections/all-products-excluding-route/products/aura-clearing-mist #sponsor

When I'm in my most luxurious or introspective moods, I love to bring out my Malas or crystals. There's such a vast array of crystals to choose from, each carrying its own energy that promotes positivity and brings me a sense of calm. Simply having them around uplifts my spirits and enhances my surroundings.

In my home meditation space, I find the quartz crystal particularly essential. It helps me set intentions, clears the space of any lingering negativity, and grounds me deeply. Originating mostly from Brazilian mines, quartz is renowned for its ability to elevate mood and dispel negative energies. I usually source mine from local organic stores in cities or from within yoga communities, ensuring they resonate with the natural flow of energy I seek.

Using meditation beads, or Malas, is another integral part of my practice, perfectly complementing breathwork. The rhythmic movement of each bead with every inhale and exhale is incredibly soothing and supports a mindful journey through meditation. It's a ritual that aligns my mind and body, creating a serene space for inner reflection and spiritual growth.

  • What books or resources do you recommend for learning more about yoga philosophy?

Another loaded and lovely question! Here are a list of books that I love in no particular order.

  • The Bhagavad Gita

  • The Upanishads

  • The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali

  • The Path of The Yoga Sutras - Nicholai Bachman

  • Yoga and the Quest for the True Self

  • The Great Work of Your Life

  • Eastern Body Western Mind

  • The Wisdom of Yoga

  • The Daily Stoic - honorable mention that isn't necessarily "yoga" but more mindfulness and separation

  • Are there any specific self-care rituals you follow outside of yoga practice?

I am really big on rituals and routines that make average extraordinary. I love taking time on my face and body for self care. Healthy products with minimal synthetics, gentle and soothing movements/products and just maximizing my time and efforts fr a more youthful glow are my JAM!

I love using products from The Golden Secrets which I have mentioned a million times I feel like. I also like products from Ranavat which is an Ayurvedic company too!

Lastly, I love my cold pluge pod and you can get one here: https://snwbl.io/pod-company/CHRISTINE39665
