First 5 Questions

1. What is The Yoga Health Club?

It's an online group of people who all want to lead healthier lives and know a little bit on how to do it, but can't implement the healthy habits they want to incorporate. Men and women, from 22-65 are able to talk, bond and source advice from me and their peers within the group. Different strokes for different folks right? So what one person is doing might work for someone else but they didn't know or hear about it before.

We learn about Ayurveda, Yoga, Circadian Rhythms, nutrition, meditation, breathing techniques, the circulatory system, lymphatic systems, and sensory organ systems.

We employ these healthy habits by looking at life currently and looking at where we want to be and what's in the way. Through introspection, conversations and doing the hard thing, the old pattern or habit is scrapped and the new one replaces it. I have worksheets, guided imagery, lectures and live events to break the old patterns. It's a lot of conscious effort to do the right thing. In the end, people are feeling better and are overall healthier, so it give them no reason to quit, stop or give up.

It's not just yoga - it's the healthy aspect of yoga which is called Ayurveda.

2. I have seen you post about Gua Sha and dry brushing, what's that about?

Gua Sha and Dry Brushing are two methods reviews in The Yoga Health Club Re: Sensory Organ Care. Our skin is the largest organ of our body! It's regulatory and absorbent so we should be good to it. Who wants to walk around with dry, dead skin creating a dull, itchy outward appearance? Not Me!

A lot of the tools I use are from The Golden Secrets and you can use Chrissie10 to get a discount from Jesse Golden's online store. https://www.thegoldensecrets.com/collections/all-products-excluding-route

Essentially, a dry brush has coarse bristles that slough away dead skin. You always want to massage the lymph nodes first to help with draining out the ick! Moving the brush in an "upward motion" helps with lymphatic drainage. Check out my blog on dry brushing!

3. I just got out of surgery for ____________. How much longer do I have to wait to go back to yoga?

This is usually up to your doctor and without knowing a Doctor's protocol, it's hard to tell.

Essentially, the doctor needs to know that major bone growth is done healing and that you are stable enough to not stumble, fall and hurt yourself again. In the event you did fall and lost balance, you could injure above or below the surgery site which complicates things.

This doesn't mean you cannot continue with a Yogic lifestyle of breathing, proper nutrition, meditation time, decreasing cell phone usage, etc. It's yoga - but it's OFF THE MAT and that's available for purchase on my site.

4. What did you get for Christmas?

A WEDDING! haha, kind of.

I wanted to go lean this Christmas and most of my family was on board with that. There's not a damn thing I need that I can't go out and get myself.

That being said, Matt got me this really cool wine dispenser that you'd see in a swanky restaurant. My mom also got me this cozy set of Pajamas from LL Bean that I love and a cashmere sweater that I have on as we speak.

5. Where are you from and what do you do?

Well, I thought this was obvious but possibly not to my new folks!

I live about 3 miles from the beach as a crow flies in a little town called Pawleys Island. I have lived in and around the area since 2008.

I am a former high school athletic trainer and teacher which allowed me to launch an online health and wellness business, Subala. I teach yoga at local gyms and facilities, I personal train clients in their homes, I create meal plans, diets and protocols for muscle gain and fat loss (I will even come over to clean out your fridge and pantry!!), I teach meditation practices, habit evolution and more recently, circadian rhythm cycles and Earth Science!
