Yoga Movement is Medicine
I believe yoga is a whole body experience including the brain and physical body. Incorporating
breath and movement has an ability to bring an uninterrupted focus that is meditative, spiritual and emotional. I wholeheartedly advocate “feel good” yoga in that if a posture instructed doesn’t feel good, you should back away from that area and just stay in stillness wherever is most comfortable. I teach a variety of yoga classes that can target the general population. I also teach teenage specific classes, Yin yoga, Iyengar inspired but my favorite classes to teach are general public, first timer yoga classes.

The physical practice of yoga was developed to quiet the jitters and silence the anxious energy of an active, healthy moving body to prepare it for the stillness of a centered mind. The first two steps of the 8 Limbed Path of Yoga are the Yamas and The Niyamas - this is the yoga of the mind, or at least a good start to learning it. Personal Training

There are so many options for trainers and coaches out there - it can be overwhelming. I offer a different perspective of a body-mind connection while strengthening and that is very unique. Many trainers will target a certain type of client and I choose to target all ages, body types, and athletic abilities. I don’t prefer a particular style of workout because I think the body is meant to be challenged and adaptive. I offer an educational aspect as I will explain what muscles we are targeting, how they are working, and the actual biomechanics of it all. I don’t want people to be intimidated about “going to the gym” and know that one day my clients may leave me and be on their own. I want to equip my clients with as much body knowledge, safe movements, and strength as possible. I maintain friendships with all of my clients and prefer to be on an open communication basis because that rapport allows me to edit our appointments to reach their unspoken goals.

Fitness Nutrition
Are you confused with all of the diet options out there? I was too. It’s very overwhelming to know you have a dietary restriction but are being told to eat a certain way. I can help you navigate through all of these “diets” and chose a lifestyle eating pattern that is right for you. You might have Celiac Disease or food allergies, you may be battling preexisting conditions, and you could even be in optimal health, but learning what to eat and how to prepare it is also very important. I can educate you about calories (creepy monsters in our closets that tighten clothing when we sleep), macros, healthy fats, empty calories, and even your vitamin and supplement intake. Ultimately, I can repair your relationship with food to be fuel for your body! Ask me about Ayurveda - Believe me when I tell you it's the way the world works! With your goals and activity level my first priority, I can outfit you with a weekly meal plan to accommodate how many calories you should be eating and the quality of those calories per day.
